Our craftsmen who have sand blasted signs for many years were so often asked to blast other items. We can blast clean anything, from bike parts to garden chairs and bread oven doors to old tractors!
Builders often bring in new oak beams to sand blast them adding a bit of age. We also sand blast timber to create for a driftwood effect.
We have a number of mediums depending on the finish required.
Costs - £60 per hour plus cost of the abrasive medium
Abrasive medium - 65p per kg.
We use a number of different sands for sand blasting different materials. A metal garden chair takes on average about 9 minutes and uses 12.5kg abrasive. Cost £15.54 plus VAT
Smaller objects can be blast cleaned in the cabinet using a recyclable abrasive - £65 per hour - no extra charge for abrasive.
An object such as a wheel rim takes about 15 minutes to blast.

It can be difficult to quote for exact times and sand used, there are so many factors involved. However if you look at the items on this page you should be able to work out a rough idea of cost.
Remember to tell the blaster how well you want him to leave the job. He could do the job quite quickly, just removing loose flaky paint and rust, or he could spend much longer and take off all paint to a clean finish. The time taken can also vary on how many coats of paint and the type of paint being blasted off. You can arrange to stay & watch the job being done if you prefer.

This exhaust manifold was sand blasted in the cabinet and took about 20 minutes, ie £21.67 plus VAT

The fireplace took 45 minutes to blast and used 1 bag of sand. It was left unpainted. Total Cost £70 including VAT
Items such as chairs take a surprising long time. It is because the nozzle has to slowly follow all the narrow pieces of metal. It is much quickly to sandblast a solid object. It takes anything from 15 minutes to 30 minutes to sandblast each chair and between 13kg - 26kg of sand.
If required we can spray paint with a coat of primer and two coats of metal paint in our paint shop. As standard we stock black, white, Farrow and Ball colour Lichen (light green) and Farrow and Ball colour Purbeck Stone (light grey), Moss Green, Slate Grey and Utra Marine Blue. Other colours can be ordered in but will incure minimum paint charge of £45(litre) Normal paint charge £4.50 per 100ml. Painting time @ £50 hr.
